The Alpaca is easy to rear, it is a ruminant herbivore feeding mostly on the grasses of natural meadowland, hay and small extras in the form of pellets and/or cereal grains. The Alpaca will need approximately 1000 sq.m. of pasture and a shelter against wind and rain. It is an outdoor animal that does not fear cold climates, is hardy and resilient.
